Private equity firm GoldPoint Partners, an affiliate of New York Life Investments, has recruited Sean Gelb as CFO.
Gelb will oversee the day-to-day accounting for the firm and its funds. He has over 17 years of experience in financial services accounting and administration for alternative investments, in particular private equity funds.
John Schumacher, chairman of GoldPoint Partners, described Gelb's appointment as "a strategic addition to our financial team" and said, "We look forward to the private equity financial expertise he brings."
Gelb joins from Blackstone, where he was senior vice-president of private equity tactical opportunities, finance and accounting. Previously, Gelb was a director at SS&C PEI Solutions and before that a partner at Northport (before the firm was acquired by SS&C PEI Solutions).
GoldPoint Partners manages approximately $10bn of private equity assets, including co-investment, mezzanine and fund advisory programmes, for New York Life Insurance Company, its affiliates and other institutional investors.
