Manulife Asset Management has announced that Endre Pedersen, senior managing director, Asian fixed income, has also been named chief investment officer, fixed income, Asia (ex-Japan).
Pedersen will take on his new role whilst maintaining his present position as manager of the Asia total return bond strategy. Manulife Asset Management has 60 fixed income investment professionals working in 10 Asian markets with $45bn in assets under management.
"We consider our extensive Asian fixed income footprint a key competitive advantage,", global chief investment officer for Manulife Asset Management, said. "Endre will continue to work closely with his fixed income peers and local market chief investment officers in the region to ensure consistent and effective application of the company's investment and risk management processes."
According to Manulife, Pedersen has over 15 years of fixed income investment experience, including managing regional and global funds with active currency overlay and significant allocations to Asian sovereign and corporate debt.
