The big prizes were shared among a number of firms. M&G won of fixed income manager of the year. Real asset manager of the year was scooped by AXA Investment Managers while the judges voted JP Morgan Asset Management as alternatives manager of the year.
In our individual awards, Jelle van der Giessen, NN Group took the judges' award for chief investment officer of the year.
Daniel Blamont of Phoenix Group took the young professional of the year prize, and his team at Phoenix also judged as life investment team of the year.
"We were delighted to get such great support from the industry in our inaugural Insurance Asset Risk awards," said Christopher Cundy, managing editor of Insurance Asset Risk.
"The entries showed the growing breadth and depth of talent in the insurance asset management business, and the shortlisted companies can rightly consider themselves as being at the top of the game.
"I would also like to express my thanks to all who contributed nominations and to the judges for giving up their time to consider the entries."
We will be hosting a cocktail reception on 21 March in London to celebrate the awards. Please contact oli.henry@insuranceerm.com should you wish to purchase tickets to attend.

How the awards were judged
In the first round of judging, a small group of category judges reviewed submitted entry material and then voted in a secret ballot, ranking the top entries for each category. Votes were counted and verified by Insurance Asset Risk's team.
These shortlisted entries were then put to a larger judging panel for a second round of voting by secret ballot.
All judges are senior industry experts from across Europe and the UK, each chosen for their knowledge, objectivity and credibility.
The judges' decision is final and neither Insurance Asset Risk nor the judging panel will enter into any correspondence regarding individual entries and/or award winners.
