Ed Casal has become chief executive of the global real estate operations of Aviva Investors, the asset management arm of insurer Aviva. He will also join the executive committee of the firm.
Casal assumes his new role on 1 June. At present, he is managing director, global indirect real estate, responsible for the direction of Aviva Investors' global real estate multi-manager business (REMM).

Casal succeeds Ian Womack, who is retiring. Casal is currently based in New York but will be spending a lot of time in London.
Bart Coenraads, at present head of Asia global real estate multi-manager, will take on Casal's responsibility as head of global indirect real estate.
