Prudential subsidiary M&G Investments has confirmed that Bernard Abrahamsen is leaving after 13 years as head of institutional distribution within the firm's fixed-income business.
M&G said that Simon Pilcher, chief executive, fixed income, and Jenny Williams, head of institutional public debt, will take on Abrahamsen's responsibilities for the time being. The company would not confirm that Abrahamsen will be replaced in the medium- to long-term.
Pilcher said: "Bernard has done a fantastic job in establishing and developing fixed income's institutional distribution capabilities, both in the UK and internationally."
M&G helped contribute to Prudential's 2014 operating profit of £3.2bn ($4.8bn), with M&G reporting an operating profit of £446m, up 13% on the £395m recorded in 2013 (IAR, 10 March, Prudential reports strong growth in 2014).
