MEAG replaces head of active fixed income

MEAG has hired Michael Hünseler as head of active fixed income effective from 1 July, replacing Reiner Back, who is retiring from the role.

Hünseler will be based in Munich and will be in charge of credit, emerging markets and macro units.

He joins from Assenagon Asset Management, where he headed the fixed income division as a managing director for nine years. Since 2020, he also held the newly created position of head of environmental, social and governance at the firm.

The asset manager reorganised its public markets team in February, appointing Stefan Amenda as head of multi asset and equity, while fund selector Franz Stadler started in his role as head of European equity.
