HSBC Asset Management has appointed Michael Cross as global fixed income chief investment officer (CIO) overseeing a team that manages $171bn in assets, effective 1 September.
He succeeds Xavier Baraton, recently promoted to global CIO.
Cross, a former International Monetary Fund and Bank of England staff, joined HSBC AM as global head of official sector institutions and was most recently vice-chair of institutional business.
