Eight groups active in financial markets, including the influential Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance, are joining forces to create a tool to support investors “assessing sovereign climate-related opportunities and risks”, in a collaboration to be titled the ASCOR Project.
The project’s goal is to develop an assessment framework that enables the current and future governance and performance regarding climate change by sovereigns to be measured, monitored and compared, with work beginning in June 2021 and an aim for the completion and pilot-testing of the framework by the end of the year.
