The risk solutions team at Conning, 2024's technology provider of the year, has been working to implement its risk management tools as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) since 2019.

Five years of work is bearing fruit for Conning, with the new SaaS system now offering a simplified workflow to clients, as well as a more user-friendly interface with scalable processing power.

Conning has also launched a number of new tools in recent years, including its Climate Risk Analyzer in 2021, which produces a report concentrating on the asset risk side of the balance sheet, a sector Conning calls an underdeveloped area in climate risk modelling, that the company intends to fill.

In 2023, the business launched its Portfolio Value-at-Risk tool, which allows users to calculate the value at risk of their investment holdings. The tool has been designed to be able to model thousands of individual security positions across 10,000 scenarios and can deliver analysis in just a couple of minutes.
