This year's Insurance Asset Risk Americas real asset manager of the year is Invesco, whose real estate portfolio includes $86.7bn in assets, as at 31 December 2023, with over 15 US insurance company general accounts as investors, across various strategies.
Among the firm's standout funds are the Invesco US Income Fund, which has, for more than 10 years, been dedicated to a premium income/core-plus total return investment strategy focused on markets, sectors, and asset profiles that positively benefit from ongoing demographic, economic and secular trends. And the Invesco Commercial Mortgage Income Fund aims to generate attractive risk-adjusted current income returns by originating and, to a lesser extent, acquiring senior and subordinate loans secured by commercial real estate located in the US.
Invesco's investment process has been developed since 1983, using proprietary data from its global portfolio of over 700 properties. It covers a broad swathe of the market, and has US insurance client capital invested in a range of strategies, including US debt, European debt, US core and core-plus equity, European equity, and Asian equity.
