UBS Asset Management, Real Estate & Private Markets oversees $124bn across real estate, infrastructure, private equity, private credit, and food & agriculture.
Its diverse offering gives insurers flexibility in selecting private markets solutions which, combined with the manager's agile approach to real asset investing, put UBS AM in the top spot for Real Asset Manager of the Year.
To cite only a few of the manager's successes in the last year, its indirect real estate platform, its numerous infrastructure platforms and its private equity offering all reported strong growth, with no sign of slowing down this year.
The manager's indirect real estate platform added $3.4bn in new equity in the 12 months to September 2021. This continued growth, stability and scale allows UBS AM to negotiate favourable terms of investment, including fee savings on underlying investments.
In infrastructure insurers can choose from several platforms offered by UBS AM: direct debt to high-yield to multi-manager solutions. All these strategies offer attractive risk-adjusted returns and favourable Solvency II treatment.
With over $7.6bn in AuM invested globally as at June 2021, UBS AM can offer bespoke mandate solutions, covering all regions, stages and investment styles in the private equity universe.
"More than 50% of the funds in which we invest are highly restricted in terms of access, providing opportunities that are otherwise unavailable to newer, smaller investors," the manager says.
