Insurance Asset Risk is pleased to announce the winners of its 2020 Awards
There was no clear overall winner to this year's Insurance Asset Risk awards with three firms taking two awards each. Morgan Stanley Investment Management retained its crown as equity manager of the year while also bagging the fixed income manager of the year award. DWS won passive manager of the year, a new category, as well as real assets manager of the year. Judges voted Aviva Investors as both data science provider of the year (new category) and investment team of the year.
Tim Ryan, of Generali, took the judges' award for chief investment officer of the year.
This is Insurance Asset Risk Awards' third edition. Building on the success of previous years, three new categories were added, an increased number of entries was received, matched with an increase in quality – which made the judges work even harder.
The whole of Insurance Asset Risk's team would like to thank the industry for its support, and the judges for their time and expertise.

Responsible investor of the year: Natixis Investment Managers (Mirova)
Investment team of the year (asset manager category): Aviva Investors
Investment team of the year (insurer category): Wesleyan
How the awards were judged
Judges reviewed the submitted entry material and then voted in a secret ballot. Votes were counted and verified by Insurance Asset Risk's team.
All judges are senior industry experts from re/insurers across Europe and the UK, each chosen for their knowledge and objectivity.
The judges' decision is final and neither Insurance Asset Risk nor the judging panel will enter into any correspondence regarding individual entries and/or the award winners.
